Sunflower MAS 83IO is a high-oleic mid-early hybrid intended for cultivation in various agroclimatic zones of Ukraine, including the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions. The vegetation period is 108-113 days, enabling the hybrid to successfully adapt to regional conditions. Plants are characterized by low stature and convex flower head shape, facilitating harvest and improving yield quality.
The MAS 83IO hybrid features high oil content in seeds — 50-52% — with a high proportion of oleic acid, making it especially valuable for producing high-quality oil. The 1000-seed mass varies from 49 to 55 grams, and potential yield reaches 50 centners per hectare. High oil content and stable yield performance make this hybrid an attractive choice for farmers.
Special attention is given to the hybrid MAS 83IO's resistance to various stress factors and diseases. It exhibits high drought tolerance (rating 9), lodging resistance (rating 8), as well as resistance to downy mildew, false powdery mildew (RM9), Fomopsis, and stem and head rot. This ensures reliable cultivation even under challenging climatic conditions. Recommended seeding rates depend on soil moisture: 50-55 thousand seeds per hectare under low moisture, and 60-65 thousand under sufficient moisture. MAS 83IO is suitable for efficient and cost-effective cultivation practices, making it appealing to a wide range of farmers.
