ES Havana

ES Havana sunflower is an early-maturing, simple hybrid with high yield and excellent adaptability to various growing conditions. It features a short vegetation period of 90 to 105 days, allowing successful cultivation in regions such as steppes, forest-steppes, and Polissia of Ukraine. Plants reach a height of approximately 150-160 cm, and the flower head diameter is about 23 cm. The hybrid exhibits strong initial growth energy and good mass accumulation during early vegetative stages, contributing to stable yield formation even under adverse conditions. ES Havana has high drought and low-temperature tolerance, making it especially valuable for regions with variable climates. Seeds possess strong immunity to major sunflower diseases, including black mold, verticillium, stem and head sclerotinia, rust, fomopsis, and false powdery mildew. This comprehensive protection ensures stable yields and reduces the need for intensive chemical protection. The hybrid features high oil content in seeds — from 48 to 50% — making it attractive for oil production. Recommended seeding rate varies depending on soil moisture levels: 45-50 thousand seeds per hectare under insufficient moisture and 50-55 thousand under sufficient moisture.
