The Bogucharets sunflower variety is an ultra-early-maturing, high-oil hybrid created through individual selection from early-maturing varieties. Its vegetative period is only 65–71 days from germination to physiological maturity, which is significantly shorter compared to other varieties such as Rodnik, Yubileiny 60, and Donskoy 60. This allows the variety to be used in regions with short growing seasons and under summer drought conditions, ensuring timely harvest. Bogucharets is characterized by its low stature, with plant height ranging from 120 to 140 cm, which contributes to resistance to adverse weather conditions and ease of mechanized harvesting.
The oil content of Bogucharets seeds reaches 48–49%, while the mass of 1000 seeds is 65–70 grams. Seed yield can reach 28 centners per hectare with the recommended sowing density of 60–65 thousand plants per hectare. Due to its high oil content and early maturity, the variety is in demand in various agro-climatic zones, including the Volga-Vyatka, Central Black Earth, North Caucasus, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, Urals, and West Siberia regions.
Bogucharets is recommended for cultivation in conditions requiring early ripening and high oil content, making it an optimal choice for farmers seeking maximum sunflower production efficiency. The possibility of late sowing until mid-June extends the timeline for agrotechnical operations, allowing the crop to adapt to various climatic conditions. The variety was developed and implemented by LLC Bogucharskaya Breeding and Seed Company of the Oilseed Crops Research Institute, ensuring its quality and compliance with modern agricultural requirements.
