Sunflower GRAND STAR 50

Reliable Yields with Euro-Lightning Technology

For growers facing heavy weed pressure and complex phytosanitary challenges, the GRAND STAR 50 hybrid from Ssp Prima serves as a cornerstone for predictable farming. This sunflower hybrid is engineered to produce high oil content (50-55%), aligning with modern market demands for quality feedstock.

Strategic Crop Protection

The core advantage of this model is its tolerance to imidazolinone herbicides (Euro-Lightning technology). This feature allows for the effective control of broad-spectrum weeds directly during the active growing season. Practical field application is supported by its strong biological resistance profile:

• Pathogen Defense: High tolerance to downy mildew, white rot, and gray rot significantly reduces the dependency on frequent fungicide applications.
• Disease Management: Genetic resistance to rust, phomopsis, alternaria, and various root rots ensures field survival during humid conditions or challenging spring weather.

Standing at a height of 170-180 cm, the uniform canopy simplifies combine harvesting, minimizing mechanical losses. The slightly convex shape of the head promotes efficient water runoff, reducing the risk of seed decay prior to harvest.

Operational Efficiency

With a growing cycle of 100-110 days, the GRAND STAR 50 is a versatile solution for varying climatic conditions. It reliably reaches maturity even in shorter growing seasons, allowing producers to streamline planting and harvesting schedules. For those prioritizing high oil output and robust weed management without compromising plant health, this hybrid remains a top-tier choice for professional farm management.
