Sunflower AmaTo is an early-maturing hybrid developed by VNIIS, intended for cultivation in the forest-steppe, steppe, and Polissia regions of Ukraine. Its vegetation period is approximately 110 days, allowing for harvest at optimal times. Plants reach a height of about 180 cm and have high yield potential up to 5.2 tons per hectare (52 c/ha), making this hybrid attractive for agricultural producers focused on high productivity.
One of the key features of sunflower AmaTo is its high resistance to various diseases, including fomosis, fomopsis, rust, false powdery mildew, gray and white rot, as well as to sunflower thrips A-G. Additionally, the hybrid demonstrates excellent drought tolerance, lodging resistance, and resistance to seed shattering, which contributes to yield retention and quality improvement. Seeds contain a high oil content — from 50 to 52% — an important indicator for oilseed crops.
Hybrid AmaTo is adapted to extensive cultivation technology and resistant to herbicides containing tribenuron-methyl (SU) at a concentration of 50 g/ha, facilitating weed control and reducing agronomic costs. The recommended planting density varies depending on soil moisture levels: from 50,000 to 65,000 plants per hectare. All these characteristics make sunflower AmaTo a reliable and efficient choice for farmers aiming to achieve a stable and high-quality harvest.
