Vegas is an early-maturing sunflower hybrid developed under the Granstar technology, with a vegetative period of 105-108 days. It is characterized by high productivity and adaptability, enabling successful cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe. The hybrid features a strong stem and nearly vertical basket tilt, which contributes to resistance against lodging and seed shattering. Plant height reaches up to 170 cm, and basket diameter is approximately 23 cm, ensuring optimal conditions for harvest formation.
One of the key features of Vegas is its high resistance to late-stage ragweed (A-G+), as well as to a wide range of diseases, including fusarium, fusariosis, rust, false powdery mildew, gray and white rot, and sunflower moth. The hybrid demonstrates very high drought tolerance and can withstand Granstar herbicide application at a dosage of 50 g/ha, making it a reliable choice for cultivation under stressful conditions.
Oil content in Vegas seeds reaches 53%, and together with high yield potential up to 5.4 t/ha (54 c/ha), it ensures high economic efficiency of cultivation. Seeds are supplied in bags of 150,000 units, sufficient for sowing on 2.2-2.5 hectares, and undergo fungicide-pesticide treatment with carbendazim, metalaxyl-M, microfertilizers, growth stimulators, and polymer dye. Recommended plant density at harvest varies depending on soil moisture and ranges from 50,000 to 60,000 plants per hectare.
