The primary value of ED 193 for farmers lies in its comprehensive genetic protection. In conditions of high humidity and infection risks, the hybrid demonstrates strong resistance to the most common sunflower pathogens:

• Phomopsis and Phoma: Major threats of stalk rots are effectively blocked at the genome level.
• Powdery Mildew: The hybrid is highly resistant, reducing the need for additional fungicide applications.
• Charcoal Rot: A key indicator of stability, allowing the crop to be grown in fields with high infection pressure, particularly in hot and arid regions.

The selection work by Evgeniya Burlyaeva and Oleg Gorbachenko focused on shifting the emphasis from chemical protection to the plant's inherent biological resilience.
