Subaro

Subaro sunflower is a moderately intensive linoleic-type hybrid developed by Syngenta. It belongs to the mid-late maturity group with a vegetation period of 106-115 days and is optimized for use with the herbicide Express (under Granstar). Plant height is medium — from 165 to 175 cm, ensuring ease of care and harvest. The hybrid demonstrates high growth rates in early development stages, promoting rapid crop formation.

Subaro is characterized by high yield and oil content stability, with oil content in seeds reaching up to 48-50%. The hybrid's yield potential reaches 9 points on the evaluation scale, and its yield stability and drought resistance indicators are also high (8-9 points). Recommended planting density varies depending on moisture conditions: in dry conditions — 40-45 thousand plants per hectare, in moderate moisture — 45-55 thousand, and in sufficient moisture — 55-60 thousand plants per hectare.

The Subaro hybrid exhibits comprehensive tolerance to major sunflower diseases, including Phomopsis, Phomosis, white rot, false powdery mildew, and race A–E of downy mildew. Disease resistance level is rated at 8 points, ensuring reliable protection and reducing the risk of yield losses. Recommended for cultivation in the Northern Steppe and Forest-Steppe regions of Ukraine, where it demonstrates high adaptability and stability under various climatic conditions.
