Kentavr — mid-early sunflower SU-hybrid with a vegetation period of 105–108 days, possessing high yield potential up to 50 c/ha and oil content of about 50 %. This hybrid is distinguished by high drought and lodging resistance, ensuring stable yields under various soil-climatic conditions. Thanks to these features, Kentavr is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain high-quality sunflower yields.
To protect Kentavr crops from a wide spectrum of monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous weeds, it is recommended to use a systemic herbicide specifically developed for sunflower hybrids and varieties resistant to imidazolinones. The active ingredients — imazamox and imazapir — penetrate through the roots and leaves of weeds, spread via xylem and phloem to growth points, where they inhibit the enzyme acetolactate synthase (ALS). This leads to cessation of protein and essential amino acid synthesis, causing weed death.
Herbicide effects manifest as cessation of plant growth, death of growth points, and chlorosis of young leaves. Weed growth stops within several hours after application, but complete death occurs within 2–8 weeks. Using such a herbicide allows effective weed control, providing optimal conditions for hybrid Kentavr development and high productivity.
