Sunflower Elba

Crop Stability with the "Elba" Variety

In the face of an unpredictable climate, the choice of planting material is shifting towards reliability. The "Elba" sunflower variety from "AF Ukrainske Nasinnya" is the preferred choice for agronomists prioritizing classic genetics, proven over time and by Ukrainian soil conditions. Unlike complex and costly hybrids, "Elba" is a true variety, providing farmers with a strategic advantage: the ability to reuse seeds from their own harvest for future seasons without sacrificing quality.

Agronomic Profile and Strengths

"Elba" demonstrates remarkable plasticity, adapting to various soil types—from fertile chernozems to heavier clay soils. Key advantages include:

• High germination energy, which is critical during moisture deficits at sowing time.
• Consistent oil content: the variety delivers predictable oil yields, a factor highly valued by processors.
• Uniformity: the crop ensures simultaneous emergence and even ripening of the sunflower heads, simplifying harvest logistics.

On the downside, this variety requires more diligent weed control during the early growth phases. Unlike hybrids resistant to specific herbicides (such as Clearfield or Express), "Elba" relies on traditional crop protection protocols. This makes it most suitable for farms with well-established soil-applied herbicide technologies.

Who is this variety for?

This product is an ideal solution for small and medium-sized farms aiming for autonomy from the annual purchase of expensive hybrid seed units. "Elba" is the choice of the pragmatic owner who values the reliability of classic varieties and prefers not to overpay for the "marketing premiums" of modern hybrids.
