Sunflower Bunchuk

A compact hybrid for intensive farming

Bunchuk, developed by the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute, stands out among tall competitors due to its distinct ergonomics. With a stem height of just 90–100 cm, this hybrid demonstrates exceptional resistance to lodging, a critical factor for farmers in regions prone to strong winds.

Agronomic profile

The narrow-ovate black seeds and well-balanced plant architecture make this hybrid a highly technological tool. Its main advantage lies not only in yield potential but in reliability. The low stature minimizes harvest losses during mechanized operations, and the uniformity of the crop simplifies combine harvester settings significantly.

• Stress tolerance: The genetics from the Yuriev Institute are specifically adapted to the climatic conditions of Ukraine, ensuring stability even under moisture stress.
• Target audience: This is an ideal choice for growers focused on reducing fungicide costs and achieving uniform ripening across the field.

The challenge with Bunchuk lies in its sensitivity to planting density. Like any compact variety, it requires precise adherence to agronomic guidelines. Over-thickening can reduce the potential of individual plants, so successful cultivation requires an exact calculation of seeding rates. Bunchuk is the preferred choice for those who prioritize efficiency and ease of handling during the harvest process.
