Sunflower VELOSO is a mid-early hybrid with a maturity period of 108-112 days, featuring rapid early growth and high adaptability to various growing conditions. Plants are of medium height, around 170 cm, with a semi-tilted head of 16-19 cm diameter. The hybrid is characterized by resistance to lodging, stem breakage, drought, and heat tolerance, ensuring stable yield even under stressful conditions. VELOSO is recommended for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones, confirming its broad ecological plasticity.
The VELOSO hybrid is distinguished by high seed oil content, reaching 50%, and a 1000-seed weight of approximately 66 g. It exhibits resistance to six races of the sunflower moth (A-F), as well as to major sunflower diseases, including sclerotinia, phomopsis, powdery mildew, and gray mold. Thanks to its genetically built resistance to phytopathogens, the hybrid maintains healthy plants and high-quality yields.
To maintain high oil content and yield, it is recommended to apply mineral fertilizers at the beginning of the vegetation period, including boron, humate, and urea. VELOSO can be grown using both conventional and intensive technologies with parallel application of complex fertilizers. Weed control is achieved using specialized herbicides developed for this crop. The hybrid demonstrates vigorous early growth and ensures a stable high yield under various climatic and soil conditions.
