Sunflower Veleka

Stable yields with minimal risks

Working with the 'Veleka' hybrid from Saaten-Union, agronomists appreciate its predictability. This simple sunflower hybrid is the choice for those who prefer to avoid the 'lottery' of crop diseases. In conditions of high humidity or unstable climate, it performs reliably, demonstrating strong immunity to downy mildew, phomopsis, and phoma.

Agronomic performance in the field

The 110-120 day vegetation period allows for precise planning of sowing and harvest without rush. The plants exhibit balanced growth: with a height range from 100 to 200 cm (depending on soil fertility and management practices), it provides flexibility in choosing seeding rates. Importantly, the stalk remains sturdy throughout all development stages, which is critical for mechanized harvesting, ensuring minimal seed loss.

• Crop health: Genetic resistance to major fungal infections reduces the need for excessive fungicide applications.
• Harvesting: The hybrid matures evenly, easing the workload for combine operators and reducing the pressure on grain cleaning equipment.
• Technology: Being a simple hybrid, it guarantees excellent crop uniformity — you won't see uneven fields where some plants are dry and others remain green.

The German breeding expertise of Saaten-Union and Nordsaat is evident in the seed quality. When following recommended cultivation practices, 'Veleka' delivers a stable oilseed output, making it a highly profitable tool for commercial production.
