Sunflower Baster is an intensive, simple hybrid developed by Ukrainian selection for the "Clearfield" technology under EuroLighting. It has a medium-early maturity period — the vegetation period lasts 107–110 days. Plants reach a height of 170–180 cm, and the flower head diameter ranges from 22 to 24 cm. The hybrid is intended for oilseed use and is characterized by high oil content up to 50%, making it attractive for oil production.
Due to its high drought and lodging resistance, sunflower Baster is well adapted to various climatic conditions in Ukraine, allowing cultivation across a wide range of zones. The hybrid demonstrates high yield potential up to 55 centners per hectare under intensive cultivation practices. Recommended planting density varies depending on regional moisture levels, promoting optimal plant development and maximum use of soil resources.
Special attention has been given to disease and pest resistance: the hybrid offers high protection against fusarium, fusariosis, powdery mildew, black and white mold, septoria, and also against downy mildew (genetic resistance to 6 races). These qualities ensure stable yields and reduce the need for frequent chemical protection applications, making sunflower Baster a profitable and reliable choice for farmers focused on intensive and sustainable production.
