Sunflower Bastion is a mid-early hybrid developed using Clearfield Plus technology, suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe. It is characterized by high plasticity and stable yield, allowing effective use of its potential on fertile soils as well as under high agronomic practices. The hybrid’s maturity group is mid-late, with a maturation period of 116 to 125 days.
Bastion hybrid exhibits high tolerance to major sunflower diseases such as fusarium, phomopsis, as well as white and gray mold. It is resistant to race A-G of downy mildew, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss. Thanks to its strong root system and rapid early growth, the plant demonstrates high drought and stress tolerance, ensuring stable yields even under adverse weather conditions.
Plant height reaches 170-180 cm, flower head diameter is 20-22 cm, and the 1000-seed weight is approximately 70 g. Oil content in seeds ranges from 48 to 52%, making the hybrid attractive for producing high-quality sunflower oil. Yield potential reaches 55 centners per hectare, confirming the hybrid’s efficiency and reliability when recommended agronomic practices are followed.
