Arunasun IR sunflower hybrid is a modern breeding development adapted to diverse climatic conditions and agronomic requirements. This hybrid belongs to the moderately-intensive linoleic type and is characterized by high stable yield, reaching its maximum potential on fertile soils with high agronomic practices. Arunasun IR has high drought resistance, cold tolerance, and can withstand temperature fluctuations, making it suitable for cultivation in various regions.
One of the key features of this hybrid is its high tolerance to diseases and pests. It is resistant to 6 strains of downy mildew (including groups A-E), and also has genetic resistance to Botrytis, Phoma, Phomopsis, sclerotinia of head and stem diseases. The hybrid is also resistant to Plasmopara 730 strain due to the presence of the PLarg gene. These characteristics significantly reduce the risk of yield loss and ensure stable production.
Arunasun IR belongs to the medium-early maturity group and is cultivated using Clearfield® technology, which allows effective weed control. Recommended seeding rates vary depending on conditions: under optimal conditions — 45-50 thousand plants per hectare, under difficult conditions — 35-45 thousand. Plant height is combined with good lodging resistance, and the head is oriented downward. Seed oil content is 50-54%, ensuring high oil content and product quality. The hybrid is suitable for cultivation in all zones with mineral nutrition levels ranging from medium to high.
