Description Austin
The Austin potato variety is a medium-early German variety distinguished by high market yield and suitability for chip production. Tubers have an oval-round shape with medium-depth eyes, and the skin and flesh are yellow. The weight of one marketable tuber ranges from 104 to 132 grams, and the starch content varies between 16.0–18.0%, ensuring good taste and excellent processing properties.

The Austin variety exhibits high resistance to several diseases, including potato cancer, golden potato cyst nematode, as well as crinkle and striped mosaic and leaf curl. Thanks to these traits, the variety demonstrates stable productivity and high tuber marketability, reaching 87–95%. Storage capacity is 95%, allowing the product to retain quality during storage.

The yield of the Austin variety significantly exceeds that of standard varieties such as Elizabeth, Lady Clare, and Nevsky. Market yield ranges from 161 to 439 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 511 centners per hectare. These characteristics make the variety attractive for commercial cultivation and industrial processing, ensuring high output of quality potatoes.
