Sugar beet Gala

Stable yields under high phytosanitary pressure

The sugar beet hybrid 'Gala' from the German breeding company KWS is a strategic choice for producers operating in environments with significant disease pressure. As an 'E' type (yield-oriented) hybrid, it is specifically engineered for farms where maximizing tonnage per hectare is the primary objective alongside maintaining solid quality parameters.

Field Application Scenarios

The core value of 'Gala' in any crop rotation is reliability. Where standard varieties may falter due to aggressive foliar diseases, 'Gala' offers a robust defense. Its genetic resistance profile excels in regions prone to cercospora leaf spot and ramularia. This allows farm managers to optimize fungicide spending, preventing critical photosynthetic decline during the most vital stages of canopy development.

Key Agronomic Features

• Root Health: Enhanced tolerance to root rots minimizes the risk of stand loss, ensuring a uniform population until the end of the season.
• Harvestability: The oval-conical root shape is optimized for mechanical harvesting, allowing for clean extraction from the soil with minimal harvest losses.
• Efficiency: While categorized as having smaller root size, its high potential for plant density compensates, delivering strong overall tonnage characteristic of the 'E' classification.

Choosing 'Gala' is a calculated decision to de-risk sugar beet production. It serves as a dependable asset for operations utilizing intensive cultivation practices that demand predictable performance, even in challenging environmental and phytosanitary years.
