Sunflower Alexa SU is a medium-early simple hybrid of new genetics, linoleic type, characterized by high adaptability and resistance to adverse conditions. This hybrid has a vegetation period of 110–114 days and plant height of 160–175 cm, ensuring optimal development and seed formation. The 1000-seed mass is 57–60 grams, with a semi-penetrating, sloping seed head, which promotes effective maturation and harvest.
Alexa SU exhibits high resistance to herbicides containing tribenuron-methyl (SU), facilitating weed control and reducing protection costs. The hybrid also demonstrates very high drought and heat tolerance, making it a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions. Additionally, it is resistant to lodging and shattering, which helps preserve yield and improve its quality.
Special attention has been given to resistance of the hybrid to complex main sunflower diseases, including sclerotinia, phomopsis, powdery mildew, gray mold, and downy mildew, as well as to new races of downy mildew A–G. Oil content in seeds is 47–50%, ensuring high oil productivity. The recommended plant density at harvest is 50–60 thousand plants per hectare, allowing to achieve potential productivity of 4.8–5.3 tons per hectare.
