Sugar beet SX1524

American genetics for consistent sugar yield

The SKC1524 sugar beet hybrid by Seedex represents the best of American breeding, tailored for farmers who prioritize a balance between high yield and processing quality. As an NZ-type (normal sugar content) hybrid, it serves as a robust solution for processors who require consistent raw material quality and predictable sugar output.

Biological traits and growth potential

The core strength of the SKC1524 lies in its root morphology. The oval-conical shape is engineered not only for ease of mechanical harvesting but also for optimal root development within the soil profile. The medium-sized root structure supports an ideal plant density of 110,000 to 120,000 plants per hectare, which is the sweet spot for maximizing biological yield per unit of land.

Seedex hybrids are recognized in the market for their adaptability to intensive agricultural practices. SKC1524 exhibits strong resilience across various soil types common to major beet-growing regions. The synergy between moderate sugar content and significant root mass ensures that growers maintain stable yields, even in seasons with moisture deficits—a key factor for the overall profitability of sugar beet operations.

Agronomic performance

To achieve the full potential of this hybrid, strict adherence to the recommended seeding rate is essential. At a density of 110–120k plants/ha, the hybrid produces uniform, high-density roots. This uniformity is crucial for minimizing harvest losses and reducing soil tare during collection, which in turn optimizes logistics and improves post-harvest processing efficiency.
