Description Hilma
Hilma — a hybrid sugar beet of the sugar type, characterized by stable yield and high sugar output per hectare. The root crop yield reaches 85 tons per hectare at a sugar content of about 20%, with an average root weight of 800 grams. The roots are located in the soil at a depth of approximately 90%, which promotes good development and protection against adverse conditions. The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including the Polesie, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions, and is suitable for irrigated conditions.

The variety exhibits high resistance to major sugar beet diseases such as rhizomania, cercosporosis, powdery mildew, and Aphanomyces root rot, ensuring reliable and stable yields. Modern agronomic practices and plant protection chemicals are used to protect crops from weeds, diseases, and pests. An important element of the cultivation technology is the combined use of herbicides and stress-resistant agents, especially under drought conditions, which increases economic efficiency and reduces the toxicity of treatments.

To combat fungal diseases, the application of the contact-systemic fungicide Thiophen, containing the active ingredient thiophanate-methyl at a concentration of 700 g/kg, is recommended. This product has protective and curative effects against powdery mildew, rust, rots, and spots, contributing to plant health and increased yield. The recommended plant density at harvest is approximately 90–115 thousand plants per hectare, with a sowing rate of 1.3 seeding units per hectare.
