Sugar beet of the variety Chereshnevyy is an important sugar-producing crop of the temperate zone, characterized by high yield potential and sugar content reaching 18–20%. The root has an oval-conical shape and penetrates into the soil approximately 85%, which contributes to its good development. The leaf rosette is of medium size, dark green in color, and spreading in form. This variety is distinguished by its resistance to drought, cold, various diseases, and bolting, as well as good storability, making it optimal for medium harvest periods.
Growing sugar beet requires careful selection of soil and proper plant nutrition. To achieve high yields and quality roots, it is necessary to use complex fertilizers including nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus, as well as microelements, which ensure full growth and development of the crop. Chereshnevyy can also be used as a forage crop, since 100 kg of roots contain 25 feeding units and 1.2 kg of digestible protein.
The history of sugar beet cultivation dates back several centuries, starting from 1747, and during this time the crop has significantly improved. The variety Chereshnevyy combines biological traits that allow successful cultivation on suitable soils while meeting agronomic requirements. This makes it popular both for industrial sugar production and for forage purposes.
