Description CALVIN
CALVIN is a monocotyledonous diploid hybrid sugar beet with a high guaranteed sugar yield, intended for cultivation in the Central and Ural regions. The plant is of medium height and has an oval-conical root with a soil immersion depth of about 85%. The hybrid is characterized by resistance to cercosporosis, confirmed by multi-year field trials.

The average root yield is about 618 centners per hectare, with sugar content reaching 17.8%, ensuring a sugar harvest of 94.3 centners per hectare. CALVIN responds well to irrigation and is suitable for harvesting at medium and late terms, allowing optimization of agronomic measures depending on climatic conditions.

The leaf rosette is characterized by a semi-upright leaf position with strong gloss and medium intensity of coloration. The hybrid belongs to the mid-late type of sweetness and is a first-generation product developed by SYNGENTA CROP PROTECTION AG. Thanks to its characteristics, CALVIN represents a reliable choice for sugar producers seeking a stable and high yield.
