Sugar beet BTS 310

Stable Yields in Challenging Pathogenic Environments

The BTS 310 sugar beet hybrid from the American company Betaseed is a technological answer to the major challenges of modern sugar beet cultivation. In intensive farming, where soil is often saturated with pathogen pressure and climatic fluctuations trigger disease outbreaks, this hybrid demonstrates remarkable resilience.

Biological Defense as a Foundation for Productivity

The core value of BTS 310 lies in its genetic resistance potential. The development team, led by Margaret Rekoske, prioritized comprehensive immunity. The hybrid confidently withstands rhizomania, a devastating disease capable of destroying crops in a short time. Additionally, its resistance to Fusarium allows for cultivation on land with a history of soil-borne infections.

• NZ Type: The normal-sugar type ensures an optimal balance between root weight and sugar content, making processing highly efficient.
• Phytosanitary Barrier: A high level of tolerance to Cercospora, various rots, and powdery mildew allows farmers to reduce the number of fungicide applications without compromising yield.
• Morphology: The broadly conical shape of the root is ideal for mechanical harvesting, ensuring clean extraction from the soil with minimal surface damage.

Betaseed's breeding program is backed by years of rigorous testing in both the USA and Europe, where BTS 310 has established itself as a reliable workhorse for farms aiming for predictable results. Unlike highly specialized varieties, BTS 310 is forgiving of minor agronomic errors, maintaining marketability and sugar content even under adverse external conditions. This is the choice for growers seeking a reliable tool to minimize risks in technical sugar beet production.
