Protekta

Hybrid sugar beet Protekta is a classic productive type with high resistance to major diseases such as rhizoctonia (root rot), rhizomania, and cercospora. This hybrid features triple disease protection, ensuring stable yields even under adverse conditions. Protekta is characterized by high productivity — root mass reaches 900 grams, and yield can amount to up to 90 tons per hectare. Sugar content in the roots is at 19%, making this hybrid especially attractive for sugar production. Recommended plant density at harvest is 90,000 to 115,000 plants per hectare, with a seeding rate of 1.3 seeding units per hectare. The hybrid is suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including Polissia, Forest Steppe, and Steppe. Sugar beet Protekta exhibits good drought resistance due to its well-developed root system capable of absorbing moisture from depths up to 2.5 meters. This enables the plant to maintain leaf area and sustain high productivity even under insufficient rainfall. Optimal temperature for growth and development of sugar beet is 20-22°C, but photosynthesis proceeds effectively even at temperatures above 40°C. A critical period for water supply is July-August, during which root growth intensifies. Insufficient water during this period may lead to increased nitrogen content in roots, negatively affecting crop quality. Additionally, Protekta stores well in storage facilities, facilitating storage and transport of the harvest. This hybrid can withstand frosts down to -5°C during the pre-harvest period, increasing the flexibility of harvest timing. High disease resistance and resilience to stress factors, combined with high sugar content and productivity, make Protekta a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain high-quality and stable sugar beet yields.
