Spinach Spiros F1 — an early hybrid variety developed by the Dutch company Bejo Zaden, with a vegetation period of about 44 days. This variety is characterized by high yield, reaching 3.0–3.5 kg per square meter, and adaptability to growing conditions. It is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in greenhouses, as well as on balcony beds, making it a versatile choice for various climatic conditions and planting types. The plant forms a rosette with dark green, round leaves on short petioles, which have a rich grassy aroma and excellent flavor without bitterness, with a slight acidity.
Spinach Spiros F1 exhibits good stress tolerance and resistance to diseases, ensuring a stable yield and extended period until bolting. Seeds germinate at temperatures of +4–6°C, and the optimal growth temperature is +15–18°C. Young plants can withstand short-term frosts down to -6°C. For successful cultivation, choose sunny spots with well-fertilized, well-drained, and moist soil of neutral acidity. Sow at a depth of 1.0–1.5 cm with an optimal density of 30–80 plants per square meter.
This spinach variety is valued for its high content of vitamins and beneficial substances, as well as its versatility. Leaves of Spiros F1 are suitable for fresh consumption, salad preparation, hot dishes, as well as freezing and vacuum packaging. Due to its dense structure and juiciness, the greens retain their commercial and nutritional qualities during long-term storage, making this variety popular for both home cultivation and commercial production.
