The SK Riana soybean variety is an early-maturing, determinate, intensive-type variety created by Russian breeders of the «СОКО» company. The plants are of medium height, ranging from 58 to 90 cm, with weak branching and no branch lodging. The flowers are purple, seeds are yellow with a gray hilum, and the 1000-seed weight ranges from 116.4 to 146 g. The vegetative period is about 108-115 days, with flowering starting from early to mid-season and maturing in the first decade of September. The height of attachment of the lower pods ranges from 8.2-16 cm. The variety is characterized by high resistance to lodging, shattering, and pod cracking during overwintering, as well as drought resistance, making it particularly valuable for cultivation in southern arid regions.
SK Riana demonstrates high yield, especially under irrigation. Average yield in the region is about 17.9 c/ha, while maximum indicators reach 34.5 c/ha, and under optimal moisture supply and irrigation, the yield potential can reach 41.3-51.3 c/ha. The variety responds well to moisture optimization, allowing its effective use on irrigated lands. High protein content in seeds — from 36.2% to 37.14%, and fat — around 23-24.3%, ensures a good protein output per hectare, reaching 384 kg, making this variety attractive for industrial production.
For sowing, wide-row method is recommended with a sowing rate of 450-700 thousand seeds per hectare (70-120 kg/ha) depending on row spacing, as well as row method with a rate of 600-700 thousand seeds per hectare. The SK Riana variety is optimally suited for cultivation under conditions of the North Caucasus region and other southern territories with irrigation capabilities, ensuring stable and high yields with the correct agronomic approach.
