Siverka

Soybean variety Siverka is an ultra-early maturing grain variety recommended for cultivation in steppe, forest-steppe, and Polissia zones of Ukraine. This variety was developed by individual selection from a hybrid population and was included in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2013. Siverka is characterized by high adaptability to various soil-climatic conditions, allowing successful cultivation across a wide range of regions.

Plants of this variety reach a height of 87 to 97 cm, with the attachment point of lower pods at 10–13 cm. Leaves are trifoliate, the middle leaflet is broadly ovate, flowers are white, and pods are grayish in color with a slightly curved shape. Seeds are oval, yellow with a yellow hilum, weighing 170–175 g per 1000 seeds. The variety is characterized by high protein content (41–42%) and oil content (20–21%), making it valuable for both feed production and food industry.

Siverka demonstrates high yield potential — up to 4.0 t/ha, with resistance to major diseases and lodging, as well as tolerance to pod shattering. The vegetation period is 95–97 days, making it suitable as a guaranteed preceding crop for winter crops and for planting after harvesting the main crop. It is recommended to use wide-row (up to 45 cm) or dense planting methods with a rate of 110–130 kg/ha and plant density of 650–700 thousand plants per harvest.
