Rusa soy is an early-maturing grain soybean variety developed by the Selection-Genetic Institute of NAAN of Ukraine and registered in 2013. This variety is recommended for cultivation in the Polissia regions, due to its adaptation to the climatic conditions of this zone. Rusa has a medium oil content in the seeds, making it versatile for various uses.
The Rusa variety is indeterminate and of medium height, which contributes to resistance to lodging and seed cracking. The variety exhibits high resistance to gray mold, enhancing crop reliability. The average yield of seeds in central regions reaches 18.7 centners per hectare. The seeds contain 32.5% protein and 21.8% fat, making Rusa a valuable source of protein and oil.
Rusa soy is well-suited for crop rotations, particularly as a predecessor for winter cereal crops. Additionally, the variety can be used for multiple plantings in southern regions, expanding its application in agriculture.
