Snezhana is an early-maturing soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) variety developed and registered in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation. It is recommended for cultivation in the Central and Volga-Vyatsk regions. The variety's vegetative period is about 102-108 days, allowing for harvest within a relatively short time frame. Average seed yield in the Central region reaches 18.1 c/ha, and in the Volga-Vyatsk region, 16.0 c/ha, indicating good adaptation of the variety to the climatic conditions of these areas.
The variety is characterized by high protein content in seeds — 30.9% in the Central region and 32.6% in the Volga-Vyatsk region, as well as significant fat content — about 22%. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 125 to 138 grams depending on the cultivation region. These indicators make the variety attractive for use in the food and feed industries, ensuring high nutritional value of the products.
Snezhana is the result of domestic breeding work aimed at import substitution and improving seed material quality. In 2023, the variety was included in sowing campaigns using original and elite seeds, confirming its high conditioning and compliance with state standards. Development and implementation of such varieties contribute to the development of agriculture in Russia, ensuring stable soybean production adapted to regional climatic conditions.
