Soybean OAC Prescott

OAC Prescott soybean variety is a medium-maturing, high-yielding modern variety, distinguished by its high plasticity and drought resistance. The vegetative period ranges from 120 to 128 days, ensuring optimal maturity within its maturity group. Plants reach a height of about 90 cm, have a high yield potential up to 90 c/ha, and large seeds with a 1000-seed weight from 190 to 210 g. The seed hilum color is gray, which is a characteristic feature of this variety.

The variety exhibits high resistance to cracking and shattering, contributing to yield retention and reduced losses during harvest. Additionally, OAC Prescott has a high protein content — from 39.4% to 41% — and a significant oil content — around 21.2%. These characteristics make it attractive for food and industrial use. Plants adapt well to various soil types, from sandy to clayey, expanding cultivation possibilities.

Sowing recommendations include row spacing from 15 to 36 cm and a seeding rate from 560,000 to 750,000 seeds per hectare, with an optimal plant density of about 600,000–650,000 seeds per hectare. To enhance cultivation efficiency, seed inoculation with nitrogen-fixing bacteria is recommended. High resistance to drought, diseases, as well as lodging and shattering, make OAC Prescott a reliable choice for farmers seeking a stable and high-quality soybean yield.
