Golden Flower soybean variety is an early-maturing determinate variety specifically created for cultivation in the Far Eastern region of Russia, including the Amur region and Khabarovsk Krai. The variety's vegetative period is about 109 days, ensuring early crop maturity. Plants of medium height have characteristic features: hypocotyl with anthocyanin coloring, reddish-brown pubescence of the main stem, lanceolate-ovate lateral leaflets, and purple flowers. Seeds are yellow with a dark brown hilum, and the weight of 1000 seeds reaches 176 grams.
The Golden Flower variety was bred as a result of multi-year research and breeding work carried out from 2009 to 2018 at the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Soybean. During the selection process, traditional methods were used, including intraspecific hybridization of Amur and Canadian selection samples, followed by multiple individual selections. A constant line with stable hereditary traits was isolated in 2014, and in 2021 the variety was officially included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation for industrial use.
Golden Flower is distinguished by high yield and adaptability to the complex natural and climatic conditions of the Far East. The average yield in the region is 20.1 centners per hectare, while maximum indicators reached 32.6 centners per hectare. Seeds contain a significant amount of protein — 32.7%, and fat — 18.4%, making the variety attractive for agricultural production and processing. Thanks to its characteristics and disease resistance, Golden Flower is a promising choice for farmers seeking to obtain a high-quality and high-yield soybean crop in northern regions.
