The soybean variety 'Southern Star' belongs to the medium-maturing group and is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Ukraine, particularly in southern areas with an annual rainfall level of 250 to 400 mm. This variety is characterized by high grain yield, which can exceed 5.5 t/ha, making it attractive for farmers aiming for high production profitability. 'Southern Star' is suitable for both main crops and crops following the harvest of other crops, thus expanding its application possibilities in crop rotation.
The variety is characterized by high stress resistance and genetic adaptability, as confirmed by studies where it demonstrated high seed germination energy at about 90%. Laboratory seed germination of this variety reaches 97-98% when using biopreparations such as GumiField Forte and Phosphate Gel, as well as when adhering to biological and chemical plant protection measures. These measures significantly increase yield and seed quality, ensuring stable results under various cultivation conditions.
The use of fertilizers and biopreparations positively affects the productivity of this variety. Specifically, applying nitrogen fertilizers at a rate of N60 and the biopreparation Phosphate Gel contributes to a significant increase in yield. Biological and chemical plant protection further increases soybean yield by 14.7-18.4%. Thanks to these features, 'Southern Star' is a reliable and high-yielding variety that meets modern agronomic technologies and supports effective agricultural practices.
