Developed by the Selection and Genetics Institute (Odesa), Farvater is engineered for stress resilience in the southern and central climate zones of Ukraine. The breeding strategy prioritized phytosanitary stability and harvest efficiency, resulting in a variety that bridges the gap between biological potential and mechanical ease.

Plant architecture and harvesting engineering

With a plant height of 70-80 cm, Farvater offers a balanced growth habit. A critical technical detail is the height of the lowest pod attachment, which sits at 16-18 cm. This specific spacing is essential for reducing harvest losses during direct combining. Unlike shorter varieties prone to low-pod clipping errors, Farvater allows operators to optimize combine header settings for a clean, efficient cut, ensuring maximum yield recovery.

Phytopathological profile

The variety's defense mechanism against fungal infections is rooted in strong genetic resistance. Farvater displays robust protection against:

• Alternaria leaf spot;
• Fusarium and Ascochyta;
• Seed mold;
• Various forms of rot;
• High resistance to Gray mold (Botrytis).

This biological resilience significantly reduces the necessity for intensive fungicide applications, offering a clear economic advantage for farms focusing on sustainable or low-input agricultural practices.

Biochemical markers

With a protein content of 39-41%, Farvater occupies the high-protein segment of the market. This value is a testament to the plant’s high metabolic efficiency during seed filling. It indicates an optimized ability to utilize soil nitrogen and symbiotic nitrogen fixation, resulting in stable performance even under intensive cultivation systems, while simultaneously meeting the quality standards of modern soybean processing plants.
