Soybean SUPERNOVA

Compact giant: the nuances of French genetics

French breeding by RAGT has always prioritized intensity, and the "Supernova" soybean is a prime example. Unlike tall-growing varieties that focus on excessive vegetative mass, this hybrid concentrates its resources on generative development. Standing at just 15–30 cm, the plant shows remarkable pod-setting density.

Agronomic advantages

• Low-start energy: The compact habit allows the plant to distribute nutrients efficiently, reducing the risk of lodging during strong winds.
• Harvest management: The low stature minimizes losses during harvest, as the combine header can operate at a minimal height to capture the bottom pod layer.
• Intensive output: Supernova requires a high-quality nutritional background to unlock its yield potential within a small footprint.

Who should choose Supernova?

This variety is ideal for farmers engaged in intensive agriculture, where every centimeter of plant height matters for harvest optimization. It is not a forgiving variety: if you prefer an "extensive" farming approach, Supernova may disappoint. However, when seeding rates are strictly followed and moisture is adequate, it delivers outstanding results. This is a choice for the professional focused on clean harvesting and predictable crop development.

Weaknesses

The main caveat is its dependence on seeding density. Due to its physical architecture, the hybrid requires precise adherence to plant population norms. In thin stands, the plant fails to develop sufficient leaf area, leading to soil overheating and decreased yields.
