Sorghum Titan

Stable grain sorghum for challenging climates

The «Titan» variety, developed by the Plant Breeding and Genetics Institute (Odesa), is designed for agricultural operations aiming to secure a predictable harvest in regions prone to severe water stress. Its primary focus is the production of commercial grain, which serves as a high-energy component for the feed industry and deep processing facilities.

Practical application scenarios

• Mitigating drought risks: Titan serves as a reliable alternative to corn in areas where summer heat severely limits maize productivity, efficiently utilizing soil moisture on lighter soil types.
• Crop rotation efficiency: As an excellent predecessor for winter cereals, this sorghum variety manages soil water reservoirs effectively, making it a sustainable choice for Southern and Eastern regions.
• Operational efficiency: The grain's uniformity and high density simplify cleaning and drying processes, significantly reducing post-harvest handling costs and storage losses.

Agronomists integrate Titan into their production schemes to stabilize output when classic grain crops face climatic threats. Its superior resistance to lodging and inherent tolerance to common sorghum diseases make it a robust choice for maintaining profitability under difficult environmental conditions. Titan delivers consistent yields by allowing for precise plant population density adjustments based on regional moisture availability, proving its effectiveness as a core component of resilient agricultural planning.
