KUBANSKOYE KRASNOYE 1677 is a grain sorghum variety developed for use as a forage crop. It is characterized by high nutrient content, making it a valuable source of energy and protein for livestock in animal husbandry. The plants are medium-sized, resistant to lodging, have synchronous maturity, and high drought tolerance, ensuring stable and high yields.
The panicle of this variety is erect, loosely compact, and elongated-cylindrical in shape, 20–30 cm long. The grain is light or with a yellow-red hue of medium size, with a 1000-seed mass of 20–23 g. Due to these characteristics, the variety is well-suited for cultivation in various climatic conditions and soils.
Sorghum KUBANSKOYE KRASNOYE 1677 is not demanding to soils, can grow on heavy, light, and saline soils. Optimal conditions for sowing are when the average daily soil temperature at a depth of 10 cm is +14...+16 °C. Seeds are sown into moist soil at a depth of about 7 cm, which promotes rapid and uniform germination. With proper agronomy, including adherence to row spacing of 45–60 cm, high yields and uniform distribution of plants are achieved.
