Sorghum HOPPER

Sorghum variety «Khoper»: A Reliable Asset for Forage Production

In regions where feed self-sufficiency is a priority, selecting the right crop is the foundation of herd productivity. The «Khoper» sorghum variety, originating from established Russian research centers, is designed specifically for high-volume silage and hay production, offering a robust alternative to more demanding imported hybrids.

Why choose «Khoper»?

• Dual-purpose flexibility: Unlike grain-oriented sorghum, «Khoper» is bred for biomass. Its physiological maturity allows for efficient harvesting for both high-quality hay and nutritious silage, giving managers the agility to respond to weather changes and storage availability.
• Hardiness and Adaptation: Developed for local climatic zones, this variety excels in fields where stress tolerance is paramount. It exhibits strong initial growth, reducing the need for aggressive herbicide usage by naturally suppressing weeds.
• Predictable Feed Quality: The variety produces a high-digestibility silage, essential for livestock energy levels. It provides a reliable supply of dry matter that keeps costs down compared to reliance on expensive concentrate feeds.

Who is this variety for?

«Khoper» is best suited for farms operating in steppe and forest-steppe zones that prioritize consistent volume and low-risk cultivation. It is less demanding regarding soil nutrient intensity compared to high-input commercial hybrids. For producers looking for a consistent, predictable, and resilient source of forage, «Khoper» is a proven agricultural tool that delivers steady results year after year.
