ES FOEHN sorghum is a high-yielding grain-type hybrid designed for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones. This mid-season variety features red-cream grain color and a simple hybrid structure. Plants reach a height of about 125 cm, with a semi-dense panicle 28 cm long and a 1000-seed weight of 34 g. Grain protein content reaches 9.2%, and starch content is 65.6%, ensuring high nutritional value of the harvest. The sum of effective temperatures from sowing to panicle emergence is 920 °C, and from sowing to grain moisture content of 25% — 1860 °C.
The ES FOEHN hybrid exhibits high resistance to adverse factors, including drought, Fusarium, and lodging, confirmed by high resistance ratings (scale 991). Initial growth energy is also high, promoting rapid plant development and yield formation even under suboptimal moisture conditions. Recommended sowing rates vary depending on moisture conditions: 160-200 thousand seeds per hectare under insufficient moisture, 200-240 thousand under adequate moisture, and 240-280 thousand seeds per hectare on irrigated land.
ES FOEHN is characterized by stable and high yields, reaching a potential of up to 120 centners per hectare. Due to its combination of drought resistance, disease and lodging resistance, this hybrid is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality and abundant sorghum yields under various climatic conditions.
