Sorghum grain variety SLAVYANKA® is a medium-maturity forage crop developed to account for specific agrotechnical conditions. The plant is of medium height with green leaves and weak or absent anthocyanin pigmentation in the seedlings. The panicle is wide at the lower part, long, and loose with medium density, featuring oblong-oval spikelets and light brown glumes. The grain is elliptical, yellowish-white, with starchy endosperm; 1000-grain weight ranges from 25.2 to 32.1 grams. The variety is characterized by moderate drought tolerance and lodging resistance, as well as high resistance to bacterial blight. SLAVYANKA® is intended for use as grain feed for livestock, making it an important forage crop. Average grain yield reaches 24.7 centners per hectare, exceeding the average standard by 2.7 centners. Thanks to its high yield qualities and disease resistance, the variety ensures stable and high-quality feed raw materials for animal husbandry. For harvesting, a hanging threshing-type header is recommended for SLAVYANKA® sorghum, which allows for threshing plants on the root without cutting the stems. Such a header is suitable for direct combine harvesting of cereals and forage crops, ensuring high productivity and minimal grain losses. It is compatible with most modern combines, which facilitates the harvesting process and improves the efficiency of agricultural operations.
