Description Change
Soybean is one of the key agricultural crops in demand both in the food and industrial sectors. In Ukraine, soybean production is gradually expanding despite competition from global leaders such as the USA, Brazil, and Argentina. According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, approximately 1.5 million hectares were sown with soybeans last year, and experts forecast further expansion of sown areas. The profitability of soybean cultivation in the country reaches 34%, making this crop attractive for farmers.

Special attention is given to organic soybean production, which is considered a strategic direction for the development of Ukraine's agro-industrial complex and aligns with the goals of the European Green Deal. Organic farming contributes to soil conservation and sustainable agricultural development, which is especially important under changing climate conditions. For example, in Austria, soybean production has more than doubled over the past ten years, with a significant portion grown under organic standards, despite associated risks.

Climate change presents new challenges for soybean producers, including temperature fluctuations, abnormal droughts, and unstable weather conditions during the growing season. To increase yields and product quality, farmers increasingly turn to modern technologies and methods popular in EU countries. Key indicators of successful soybean cultivation are not only yield volumes but also protein content, which affects economic profitability. Thus, the development of soybean production in Ukraine is aimed at achieving food security and sustainable agriculture in accordance with international standards.
