Rose Hip 'Ukrainian Thornless' is a thornless rose hip variety with large, tasty fruits 2–3 cm in diameter and weighing about 10 g. The fruits are rich in vitamin C and other beneficial substances, making them a valuable ingredient for preparing compotes, jams, teas, and medicinal infusions.
Bushes grow to a medium size with thick, curved branches that practically have no thorns. Leaves have a light green color, a matte surface, and blunt toothed edges on the leaf blade. When choosing a planting site, consider that the plant loves sun and grows well on fertile drained soil with good water permeability; shallow groundwater has a negative impact.
The variety is easy to cultivate: sowing seeds is done in October, planting depth – 1.5–2 cm, between rows no less than 20 cm. After the third year after planting, rejuvenation pruning is recommended to maintain productivity. Fruits are harvested in August and can be dried at 80–90 °C or on a metal mesh, which preserves their aroma and beneficial properties. Rose Hip 'Ukrainian Thornless' is known for its frost resistance, making it an ideal choice for gardens in various climatic conditions.
