The «Georgia» almond variety is a moderately growing tree with a curly, dense crown and a round shape. The flowering period is early to medium, and fruiting begins as early as the fourth year after planting. The fruits are large (4–5 g) and uniform in size; the kernel content is about 55%. Thanks to its resistance to most almond diseases and high winter hardiness, the tree grows successfully even in low humidity and limited rainfall.
The yield of the variety reaches approximately 2.5 t/h. The flowering lasts almost three weeks, which ensures reliable pollination in various climatic conditions. As a result, each bush can produce from 5 to 10 kg of nuts, from which about 3 kg of kernel is obtained after shelling.
«Georgia» is undemanding in terms of growing conditions: even without irrigation and intensive fungicide treatment, the tree maintains high productivity. With moderate watering, the yield can double, and the cost of one kilogram of shelled nut reaches 450–500 UAH. This makes the variety attractive both for commercial production and for small family gardens.
