SORBINKA

Garden Rowan 'Sorbinka' is a medium-sized tree reaching heights of 4 to 6 m, with a crown diameter of up to 2.5–3 m. Its beautiful, lace-like crown has an inverted egg shape, with dense shoots of medium thickness and a reddish-brown hue, giving the tree an elegant appearance. Leaves are compound, odd-pinnate, up to 10 cm long, dark green during summer, and turn bright orange or raspberry tones in autumn, creating impressive decorative appeal.

The fruits of 'Sorbinka' are large – weighing from 2.0 to 3.0 grams, round with a slight truncation at the top. They are bright red with a yellowish tint and subcutaneous yellow-orange dots, gathered in large hanging shields. The flesh is yellow, juicy, and tender, possessing a sour-sweet taste without bitterness or astringency, making the berries suitable for both fresh consumption and dessert preparation.

The tree thrives in sunny locations but is also shade-tolerant. It requires moist conditions: soils should be fertile, drained loams with good water-holding capacity. During drought periods, young saplings require regular watering. 'Sorbinka' is distinguished by high adaptability to various climatic conditions, resistance to pests and diseases, as well as winter hardiness, making it suitable for both city courtyards and garden plots.

To achieve maximum yield, it is recommended to plant the tree next to another rowan variety, since cross-pollination significantly increases the fruit count. This is a universal variety suitable for both decorative greening and commercial berry production.
