NEVEZHINSKAYA

Nevezhinskaya – a sweet viburnum variety obtained through folk selection and named after the village of Nevezhino. The tree reaches up to five meters in height, has a spherical, dense crown with a diameter of up to 2.5 meters, and large imparipinnate leaves.

The fruits of this viburnum are notably larger than the common variety: they are round, apple-shaped, bright red or orange-red in color, and can reach up to 1.5 centimeters in diameter. The taste is juicy, sweet and sour, with a characteristic astringency that makes the berries particularly pleasant.

The variety is distinguished by high frost and winter hardiness, as well as low requirements for growing conditions. The fruits ripen in late August to early September, but are sometimes harvested as late as September–October. Due to their high vitamin C content, Nevezhinskaya berries can be compared to lemons, making them a valuable source of nutrients for health.
