Description RAMGER
Sugar beet of the RAMGER® variety is a high-yielding single-seed diploid hybrid based on sterile N-type foundation, developed to achieve high sugar content and good yield. This variety features a cylindrical root shape with a relatively smooth surface, which facilitates harvesting and reduces soil adhesion. The average fruit weight is about 700 grams, and the growing season lasts up to 120 days, corresponding to mid-maturity. The leaf rosette is semi-spreading, with medium-sized leaf blades and moderate wrinkling, and the root system is taproot, penetrating up to 2-2.5 meters deep. RAMGER® is resistant to various adverse factors, including drought and cold, and exhibits high disease resistance against such diseases as cercosporosis, powdery mildew, and root rot. Over years of field trials, very weak infection by root rots, average infection by powdery mildew and cercosporosis, and strong infection by root nematode were noted. These characteristics make the variety undemanding in cultivation and suitable for growing in various climatic conditions, including the Central Black Earth and North Caucasian regions. The RAMGER® variety is recommended for cultivation in regions such as Voronezh and Lipetsk oblasts, as well as the Stavropol Krai. In the Central Black Earth region, average root yield reaches 456.7 centners per hectare, sugar content is 18.4%, and sugar recovery is 84.2 centners per hectare. In the North Caucasian region, sugar content and recovery indicators exceed the standard by 1.1% and 5.8 centners per hectare, respectively. Sugar beet RAMGER® is widely used in cooking for preparing borscht and kvass, as well as in technical purposes for producing sugar and molasses; additionally, it serves as a non-wasteful feed crop.
