Camelina sativa L. (Rapeseed) – an annual oilseed crop grown in specific zones for oilseed production. The plant reaches an average height of about 74 cm and has green leaves that are hairy on top and deeply cut. The flowers are bright yellow, while the seeds have a yellow-brown hue.

Camelina seeds have high oil content: 1000 grams of seeds contain between 1.03 and 1.28 grams of oil. The oil includes linoleic, eicosenoic, palmitic, stearic, and other fatty acids, including omega-3 and omega-6. This product can be used as a source of beneficial fats and as an addition to the diet to reduce blood sugar levels and improve lipid metabolism.

Camelina is resistant to pests of cruciferous crops, lodging, shattering, and drought. It is suitable for mechanized harvesting, making it a convenient choice for agricultural production. Additionally, the seeds possess antioxidant properties and can be used in folk medicine as a means of preventing cardiovascular diseases and maintaining hormonal balance.
