Rye Wheat 'Pam'yat' Deriev'yanko'

Stability in Unpredictable Climates

Winter rye 'Pamyati Derevyanko' is a hallmark of Ukrainian breeding from the V. Ya. Yuriev Institute of Plant Production. Unlike many modern hybrids that demand intensive management, this variety remains a gold standard for reliability. It is prized by farmers for its high plasticity across various soil types, serving as an effective risk-mitigation tool in regions where climate conditions are volatile.

Why choose this variety?

• Robust Disease Resistance: The cultivar possesses strong genetic resistance to brown rust, stem rust, and powdery mildew. This reduces the need for frequent chemical fungicide applications.
• Winter-Hardiness: It is highly resilient against snow mold, ensuring excellent plant stand density even after harsh winters.
• Early Maturation: Its short vegetation period allows the crop to avoid late-spring droughts, a critical advantage for grain quality in steppe and forest-steppe zones.

Who is this variety for?

'Pamyati Derevyanko' is designed for producers who prioritize predictable yields and economic efficiency over the high-input demands of modern hybrids. It is remarkably forgiving of minor agronomic oversights. However, producers should be mindful of sowing dates: early planting may cause excessive autumn tillering, which could potentially weaken the plant’s winter hardiness.

Ultimately, this is a choice for farmers seeking a balanced, consistent performance. It effectively utilizes natural soil fertility and produces high-quality grain suitable for milling, ensuring a solid market demand.
