Rose Schlaire

Elegance Meets Performance: The «Sclaire» Climbing Rose

Dutch breeding excellence from Piet Schreurs Holding is globally recognized for durability and aesthetic precision. The «Sclaire» rose variety is a prime example of this, standing out in the climbing rose (climber) segment by offering a rare combination of large-scale blooms and cut-flower quality stems.

The hallmark of this variety is its flower size. Measuring between 10–15 cm in diameter, these dense, double-flowered blooms offer a visual impact rarely seen in climbing varieties. While many climbers focus purely on growth habit, «Sclaire» balances its vigor with sophisticated bloom architecture.

Why «Sclaire» is a Top Tier Choice

• Dual-Purpose Utility: Unlike most climbers that remain exclusively in the garden, «Sclaire» is highly suitable for cut flower arrangements, maintaining excellent vase life and structure.
• Seasonal Consistency: Blooming throughout the entire summer, this variety eliminates the frustration of short-lived flower displays, keeping your trellis or arbor vibrant for months.
• Growth Potential: Reaching a height of 120–200 cm and a width of over 100 cm, it is perfectly suited for covering larger vertical structures, creating a dense, lush screen.

Strengths and Considerations
The primary strength of «Sclaire» is its versatility—it serves as a professional-grade landscaping tool and a rewarding plant for home garden aesthetics. However, its productivity comes with a requirement: due to the sheer size of the flowers and the height of the bush, it demands robust trellising and consistent nutritional management. It is not a "set it and forget it" plant; it requires diligent pruning and support to display its full potential.

This variety is optimal for landscape architects looking for reliable vertical accents and gardening enthusiasts who value the ability to bring their garden's beauty indoors. If you seek a rose that commands attention and offers reliable performance across the summer, «Sclaire» is an exceptional candidate.
