The 'Red Lantern' rose is a high-climbing shrub reaching up to 3.5 meters in height. It features powerful, well-branched canes with needle-like reddish thorns and large, glossy dark green leaves. Young shoots have a purple-red tint, adding extra decorative appeal. Thanks to its structure and durability, this variety is excellent for hedgerows, gazebos, and single or group plantings, including standard formation. The 'Red Lantern' flowers are large, 6 to 12 cm in diameter, saucer-shaped, semi-double to double, and clustered in racemes of 2-16 pieces. Their saturated fiery-red color with an orange-yellow tint and a golden center with stamens creates a bright and attractive spot in the garden. Blooming is abundant and long-lasting, starting at the end of May and continuing until July, with flowers being rain-resistant. The rose has a light aroma, making it pleasant but not overpowering. The variety was bred at the Nikitsky Botanical Garden and is distinguished by high resistance to diseases such as powdery mildew and black spot, as well as pests. The rose has good heat resistance and medium drought resistance, allowing it to be grown in various climatic conditions with ordinary winter shelter. Thanks to these qualities and impressive appearance, 'Red Lantern' is an excellent choice for garden and landscape compositions.
